Venue Projektraum Kaisern, Kaiserstraße 75, Dortmund

The participatory project Cross Stitching initiated by the artist Iris Wolf brought people of different ages and cultural backgrounds together. The workshops focused on a creative exploration of photography and embroidery. Using the photos they had brought with them, the participants got into conversation with each other and learned more about the personal stories behind the pictures. Afterwards, black and white copies of the photos or specific sections of them were further embellished with needle and thread. Aspects of the stories were creatively incorporated into the pictures.

Partners: Verbund sozial-kultureller Migrantenvereine Dortmund e.V., Erzählcafé at Dietrich Keuninghaus, Projektraum Ka!sern and Begegnungsbüro vInnenstadt Nord.

The project is funded by the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.
