As an imaging medium, photography is significantly involved in the construction and perpetuation of power relations. What representational conventions determine our viewing habits and establish what we perceive as "normal"? How does the white and westernised view of the world influence the visual language in photography?

The guests of the panel discussion will address these questions and together explore the possibilities of breaking through the (post)colonial structures that are still effective today. The panel will also explore the potential of photography as a medium and art form to contribute to changing precisely these structures.

How can we achieve a change and, above all, a broadening of perspectives - in photographic as well as social terms? We look forward to a lively discussion!
