MMARIA & BEHROOZ MOOSAVI

Behrooz and Janna are an artist duo from Berlin working together on a live audiovisual performance project. Behrooz Moosavi is an Iranian musician currently living in Berlin and has been collaborating as a musician in many different music, film and video projects with Iranian and international artists since 2006. Janna Heiss or "MMaria" is a visual artist - she mainly focuses on experimental video art and photography. She began her career as an artist in 2012 and moved into vjing and live visuals in 2016.

The project "On Ontological Death" is an auditory and visual experience centered around field recordings and tape loops, produced with analog and digital techniques, film footage, archival images and manipulated videos.

The audiovisual live performance of the duo "Behrooz Moosavi & MMaria" is an exploration by the two artists of fundamental questions of human existence: questions of origin and home, of past and future, of the self and the relationship to society. Questions that come to the fore especially in the increasingly globalized world in the context of the most diverse cultural backgrounds.
